PhD Student

Nina is an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and PhD Student in the David Rockefeller Graduate Program in Bioscience. She earned her Sc.B in Biology with honors from Brown University. After graduating, she worked as a Research Assistant and studied how cells collectively organize with the ECM for early skeletal morphogenesis. Nina joined the Cohen lab in 2026 where she focuses on understanding the role of the extracellular matrix in adipose tissue health and disease. Outside of the lab she loves exploring new parts of the city, spending time near bodies of water, camping, and hiking.

Areas of Interest/Expertise: Extracellular matrix, fibrosis, tissue organization, immune-adipose interactions.
