Undergraduate research assistant
Celina is an undergraduate research assistant in the Cohen Lab. She is currently studying Biology, with a minor in Public Health in the Macaulay Honors program at Hunter College. She will graduate in spring of 2027. In the Cohen lab, Celina works under mentorship from MD-PhD candidate Nakul Karandikar, studying brown adipose tissue thermogenesis, particularly focusing on fuel utilization in knockout mouse models. She also works as a medical assistant and directs the Pre-Health Mentoring Initiative at Hunter College. Celina plans to apply to MD-PhD programs once finished with her Bachelors Degree. Outside the lab, she enjoys teaching dance and exploring the city!
